Your class has taken part in a debate regarding how cities should manage the increasing problem of urban traffic congestion. Now, your tutor has asked you to write an essay.
'If buses and trains are frequent and cheap, people will naturally leave their cars at home.'
'Charging a fee to enter downtown areas is the fastest way to reduce the number of vehicles.'
'Safe, separated bike lanes encourage healthier commuting habits and reduce road volume.'
Write an essay for your tutor discussing two of the aspects in your notes. You should explain which solution is the most effective for long-term urban planning and provide reasons to support your opinion.
You may, if you wish, make use of the opinions expressed in the discussion, but you should use your own words as far as possible.
